CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Daughter of WBT radio host Bo Thompson, Janey Thompson, tragically passed away Tuesday evening after complications from a blood clot. Janey was a sophomore at Wake Forest University where she was majoring in biophysics and went to Myers Park High School, graduating in 2022.

“The WBT and Radio One family are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Bo Thompson’s daughter, Janey,” WBT shared. “There are no words to provide adequate comfort under these circumstances, but we are committed to supporting Bo and his family in any way possible during this difficult time. We know that the WBT community of listeners joins us in prayers for the Thompson family.”

“It is with great sadness that we share that Janey Thompson (MPHS – ‘22) passed away as a result of a blood clot in her leg that traveled to her heart,” Myers Park High School shared on social media. “Janey loved MP and was loved by so many of our staff members and students. She played basketball and softball at MP.”

At this time, the family has yet to announce arrangements to honor Janey’s life. WBT says they will pass that information along when available.
